About Bobinage
Bobinage means “to wind thread” in French. It is a word related to “bobbin”, which is also known as a sewing machine part. Our name reflects our vision to offer a creative space where our customers can experience the joy of sewing and quilting.
About our Janome sewing machines
In Japanese, the word Janome (pronounced Ja-NO-me) means “eye of the snake.” The company earned the name in the 1920s when founder Yosaku Ose, a pioneer in Japanese sewing manufacturing, began to use a round metal bobbin system instead of the traditional long shuttle. The Japanese thought the new round bobbin looked like a snake’s eye, and from the innovative design, a name was born.
Janome has been leading the industry with such innovation ever since. Because of this, we use Janome sewing machines in the Bobinage studio. We know that we can rely on their products to work every time, no matter what.
When you get home, we want you to have that same kind of reliable and easy sewing experience. That's why we also sell a line of Janome sewing machines. Whether you are just starting out or looking to upgrade to the most top-of-the-line sewing experience, we can help you get right machine for you.
